Dog Walking

Forest Dogs provide a 1-1 dog walking service. This means groups of dogs are never put together and transported around.

At Forest Dogs we recognise that dogs need walking in all weathers and our Walkers face the outdoors come rain, snow or frost.

I grew up with a fascination for animals which turned into a passion when my family got a dog, a golden retriever called Arthur. Since then, I have made efforts to revolve my life around animals (and particularly, dogs) as much as possible, causing me to join Forest Dogs earlier this year. I’m also canine first aid trained.

When I was a child we always had cats, rabbits, hamster and a dog. I only got my own dog as an adult a few years ago and now have a cat as well. Once I got a dog, I then started looking after my friend’s dogs while they were away and when I was looking for a career change, dog walking seemed the ideal way to make my love for animals into a job.

I have been dog walking for Forest Dogs 2 and a half years and am trained in canine first aid. I have experience of walking a wide variety of dogs, from a tiny little Dachshund to German Shepherd Dog and all shapes and sizes in-between. I am happy to continue any training techniques you are using whilst walking your dog and am calm and patient which is particularly good for the more ‘temperamental’ dogs. I am keen to do my bit for the environment so cycle to all my dogs and use biodegradable poo bags.

I am a recent arrival in Highams Park having moved from the Cotswolds in October 2021.  I am now retired having served for 30 years in the British Army followed by a 20 year career in the IT Security Industry.

I enjoy working for Forest Dogs and use my bicycle to commute to clients who live more than a 15 minute walk from my home.  I am a keen cyclist who has ridden my bicycle on long-distance routes through France annually for the past 15 years.  I am also a qualified skipper for offshore sailing boats.

Throughout my married life I have owned dogs; a wire-haired fox terrier, 2 golden retrievers, and a rescued Parson Jack Russell.

I have always loved dogs and get a lot of pleasure walking my client’s dogs at Forest Dogs, where I was trained in canine first aid.

Our Walkers work alone and work varied shifts from 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday. Our Walkers may be able to offer a weekend service on occasion.

Walkers are fully insured and are either completing or completed canine first aid training.

We can on occasions offer house sits (in your home ) or deliver a pop in service.
